Museums and galleries

For connoisseurs and admirers of art and history Liberec and its surroundings offer several museums and galleries. The museums have a wide range of themes from regional history, toys, military and firefighting equipment. Liberec also incorporates the urban district of Vratislavice nad Nisou, where the renowned designer Ferdinand Porsche was born. Near his birthplace in the small brewery of Konrád is the Porschemuzeum with historical cars of this brand. In the nearby Kryštová údolí, famous for its production of traditional Christmas nativity scenes, there is a local functioning astronomical clock and a Nativity museum. In the center of Liberec there is also the educational park IQ-Landia with presentations from the fields of physics, biology, space, and nature etc. Several of the technically-oriented museums are associated with classic car clubs and they organize various events together.
